VSTU is a unique educational and research centre in the Republic of Belarus, providing high-quality training for the light and textile industries, the economic sector, design, IT, standardization and metrology centres, and other fields.

Throughout its history, the University has earned a reputation as a forge of high-class specialists – over 50,000 graduates have received fundamental knowledge and practical skills here, becoming true experts in their fields.

VSTU today is:

24 degree programmes at the first stage of higher education (Specialist Degree);

9 degree programmes at the second stage of higher education (Master Degree);

9 specialisations for the training of highly qualified research staff through postgraduate studies;

180 academic staff members;

9 Doctors of Sciences, Professors;

84 Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors.

The University's structure consists of 6 faculties and 17 departments, which provide a high-quality level of specialist training. The educational institution operates modern teaching and production laboratories, a Science and Technology Park, a sports complex, and a recovery center for maintaining health and promoting an active lifestyle.

The student campus, located in the center of Vitebsk, constitutes a unified educational and social complex. It includes 5 academic buildings, 2 well-appointed dormitories, a canteen offering a diverse diet, and a stadium for physical education and sports.

Educational Opportunities

Faculties and Specialisations

VSTU offers distinctive educational programmes across 6 faculties and 25 specialisations, integrating fundamental academic knowledge with a practice-oriented approach. The University provides training in such disciplines as engineering, economics, and design.

International Cooperation

VSTU is dynamically expanding the horizons of international partnership, which is one of the University's key strategic priorities. The University has cooperation agreements in education and research with 120 leading educational institutions from the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, the People's Republic of China, Vietnam, India, and several other countries.

Today, more than 500 students from 11 countries are studying here. This active dialogue with the world academic community strengthens VSTU's position as a university that prepares demand specialists both in Belarus and in other counties.

Science and Innovation

Vitebsk State Technological University is confidently advancing cutting-edge research and the implementation of innovative technologies. The priority areas of the University's scientific, technical, and innovation activities include: digital information and communication technologies and interdisciplinary technologies, along with production processes based on them; textile materials with tailored properties; energy efficiency and energy saving; composite and multifunctional materials; nanomaterials and nanotechnologies, nanodiagnostics; socio-humanitarian, economic, and information security; and protection against emergency situations.

The University's research infrastructure includes 9 research and pedagogical schools. Training of highly qualified personnel is carried out through postgraduate programmes (PhD) in 9 specialisations and doctoral studies. There are 2 dissertation councils for the defence of Candidate's dissertations.

The University publishes the scientific and technical journal «Bulletin of Vitebsk State Technological University», which is included by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus in the List of Scientific Publications for the publication of dissertation research results, and is indexed in a number of international scientometric databases, as well as the scientific journal «Materials and Technologies». The University also carries out patent and licensing activities.

The University's innovation ecosystem is being developed according to the «University 3.0» model, integrating education, science, and business. Key priorities include: the activities of the VSTU Science and Technology Park, the establishment of joint laboratories with partner enterprises, the commercialisation of developments through patent and licensing efforts, and the development of entrepreneurial competencies among students and staff.

The results of scientific research find practical application both in industry and in the educational process, ensuring a synergy between theory and practice.

Sport

Over the years of its existence, the University has established its own unique sports center, which includes gyms, swimming pools, a modern stadium, and a recovery center. For the effective physical development and student’s education, the University operates 21 sports improvement groups in 23 directions, 5 of which are designated for students living in dormitories.

Living Conditions

VSTU cares not only about what happens in the classroom but also about student comfort beyond the academic buildings. For non-resident students, the University offers two dormitories of corridor and block types. Both dormitories are fully equipped with everything needed: spacious rooms with comfortable furniture, kitchens and sanitary facilities, laundry rooms, and recreation areas.
